After Xue Song - multimedia - collage of printed images over painted with bright transparent acrylic paints. Xue Song 'seems' uses found images and text within his work (His Shanghai series uses photos of the city).
For my work I have taken photos of each part of the element that I will include in the work. Each element will be collaged by veriosnd of the photos of the element.

When using copying, I have bad dreams about working in an office with people I don’t get on with and doing a job that has no fulfilment.

I like photography, this is the first time I have be able two mix paint and photo in a meaningful way.

For this work I am still using Golden Open Acrylic paints but different colours from those shown in 'How I Paint'. I wanted pure Transparent toness with no mixing as I wanted to paint multiple trasparent layers.

ba4 Photos of bridge, with Chantry Chapel.
ba41 Photos of bridge, Photoshopped, and combined onto A4 sheet.
ba51 Sketch for final layout. Chantry Chapel is in the correct place, The Hepworth Gallery has been moved for this work.
ba51 Sketch colours, with my selected. But some colours had to be mixed, which did not suit the style so I decided to use a differnt set of colours. I decided to change the colour of the Hepworth to a brighter / paler colour.
ba21 Canvas board with outline for collage, the numbers are the order to do the collage.
ba22 Collage done.
ba24 ba23 - "22 x 18" - Acrylic over collage. To get very trasparent bright colours I had to use a differnt set of colours from my given set.
I still used Golden OPEN but with - Sap green, Cobolt Turquise, I still used Golden OPEN but with - Sap green, Cobalt Turquoise, Ultramarine Blue, Indian yellow, Manganese Blue Hue, Vandyke Brown with some Pthallo Green (BS).
The Manganese Blue is a brighter blue than I was hoping for, and so starts to disapear into the sky. I had to buy the Turquoise especially for this painting. I thought the Manganese Blue would be paller, I could not find a transparent pale grey.

After Xue Song - multimedia - collage of printed images over painted with bright transparent acrylic paints. This my own composiiton, using my own photographs. I am happy and dispapointed at the same time. I am happy with the art, the collage provides texture and deapth. I like the flat, tarasparent colours and so I find the work very plaesing. The chatoic shapes in the trees, sky and water and not wild. The buidings form nice geopmetric forms. I am disappointed because it is all based on another artist style and techniques.
