As Per DEC. 2020
As Part of the Writing Retreat I had an exercise to do some with some relevent writting, so I chose to develop this page.

Based on what I learnt over many years my current practice is to do many small paintings, through which I can explore many techniques and painting theories, using small paintings and a selected pallet of colours.
A key part of this is use transparent paints on a gloss white background, to get interesting light effects.
At the same time i like to paint in series, so that I can explore and improve techniques, skills and ideas.

The Colour set I have chosen to use.

OPEN Slow-Drying Acrylics have a remarkably relaxed working property that facilitates blending, softening, shading and glazing and fine detail. This eight color set is capable of producing some of the cleanest, brightest mixes for a wide array of hues and shades. The set includes a reference guide/poster with proportions for mixing popular colors. OPEN colors can be mixed with Fluid and Heavy Body colors to control drying time. - From GOLDEN Piants website "https://www.goldenpaints.com/products/colors/open/sets/golden-open-slow-drying-color-mixing-modern-theory-952"

The set contains 8 colours and a bottle of thinner
1. BYL - Benzimidazolone Yellow Light
2. BYM - Benzimidazolone Yellow Medium
3. NRL - Naphthol Red Light
4. QM - Quinacridone Magenta
5. AB - Anthraquinone Blue
6. PB - Phthalo Blue (Green Shade)
7. PG - Phthalo Green (Blue Shade)
8. TW - Titanium White

paper Paper I use

I use paper as it is available easily available and in sizes I like. It is easy to store and to scan (for putting on the internet). I like smooth paper, allowing only my brush marks to show in the painting. I use gesso on the paper to allow it to be painted with acrylics.

clipboard3 Paper on clipboard - painting area painted with Gesso and then Titanium White with gloss medium(50/50). Ready to use for a painting.

Using a clip board is an easy way to hold the paper when I am painting, the margins allows me to paint without having to paint neer the clips. I also like the effect of the painting slightly overlapping the painting bounds.

Two meanings -
The range of colours used to create a panting.
`The surface on which pants are placed on and mixed while creating a painting.
brushes Brushes - I prefer flats (I like being able to apply lots of colour over a 'large' area), but use rounds for more detailed work. I use many brushes so that I dont have to stop to clean then while painting.
